The Finer, and Finest, Things in Life
In America, we have a saying: The finer things in life. These are the things that most people talk about when they are speaking of thing of high quality. In fact, much of that which propels people to pursue success, particularly financial success, is the desire to participate in the finer things in life.
Let’s face it, increased finances enable us to do more things and enjoy things that we otherwise would not be able to afford. And we should consider that a blessing.
I am at a stage where my wife and I, and our kids, can enjoy some of the finer things in life. It hasn’t always been that way. I think sometimes it is best to have to go years of getting by so that we appreciate more fully the finer things in life when we are able to experience them. I am thankful for where I am.
Who can argue of the beauty of a fine painting? Who doesn’t love the smell and feel of leather furniture? Who doesn’t enjoy driving a well-engineered car? Who doesn’t dream of the softness and warmth of a Cashmere sweater? Who doesn’t like a nice watch that can be passed on the your son or daughter someday? All of these are common symbols of the finer things in life, and indeed they are.
There is only one possible pitfall that I have found in the pursuit of the finer things in life. It is common that many fall into this trap. It is this:
While pursuing the finer things in life, we often become so engrained, so focused in the pursuit, that we do not experience the finest things in life.
You see, for the most part, the finer things in life, as commonly defined, cost money. And usually it takes a lot of time working to make the kind of money that enables us to experience the finer things in life. And in the pursuit of the money to enjoy the finer things in life, we are spending so much time that we are missing regular opportunities to enjoy the finest things in life.
Let me tell you of a recent experience. A couple of weeks ago I took my son, age 9, down to see some spring training baseball in Phoenix, Arizona. This was our second trip down together and we hope to make it an annual tradition. We popped down just for three days to see three games (Boy the Seattle Mariners are looking good this year! But I digress…)
The first game we saw was against the California Angels in their spring training facility in Tempe. There we sat waiting for the game to start. Now let me assure you, this was not an experience of the finer things in life. It was actually a little chilly out, though the sun was shining. We were sitting on relatively hard seats, and my cuisine consisted of peanuts and a diet-Pepsi. Hmmmmm.
But do you know what I found myself thinking? “There is no place else in the world I would rather be right now.”
I was spending time with my boy, doing something we would both enjoy, and creating memories that will never go away. This, my friends, was one of the finest things in life.
What are the finest things of life in my book? Here are a few. You can see where I am going and name a few yourself.
Reading a novel just for the fun of it.
A casual stroll along the beach with nowhere to go.
An extra half-hour at the coffee shop, catching up with friends and actually tasting the great flavor of a cup of coffee, rather than rushing it.
A game of crazy eights with my kids.
A quiet evening out with my wife.
A Saturday afternoon sleeping on the couch in front of the fire.
And the list goes on…
Are you taking enough time to stop and taste of the finest things in life? Or are you so bent on getting to a point wherein you can experience the finer things in life?
I have a saying that “good is the enemy of the best.” Sometimes the finer things of life get in the way of the finest things in life. Sometimes we settle for the finer things in life when we could be enjoying the finest things in life.
Visa has a series of new advertisements out right now. They would go something like this (describing a vacation): Airline tickets: $1500. Hotel room: $1200. The smile on her face: Priceless.
We can always put a value on the finer things in life, and I would encourage you to enjoy them if you can. But the finest things in life are priceless. You can put no value or price tag on them. It is a mandate that we take the time to enjoy them.
Take some time this week to live up to the old saying: Stop and smell the roses. You will never regret it.

What is InLife – An Very Colorful Review of the Company, Products, & Opportunity
Craig Youngblood, Simon Lu, Steve Youngblood, Gino Ferrare, and David Allen Baker came together in 2007 to create a very unique company Revelle LLC. This company was the beginning of what is now InLife. There mission statement is “To Provide innovative and Exciting Products for your customers While Helping to Improve the Financial well-being of Our Independent Distributors.” Yawn, that sounds like what every network marketing company says, but InLife really grabbed my attention with there “exciting” products.
So, what are the products? According to InLife they manufacture environmentally sound and useful products that help individuals achieve a healthier lifestyle by helping them to quit smoking and choosing logical alternatives. OK, that sounds so caring, but check out what there product is. There first, and most advertised product, is an electronic cigarette that gives you the “right” amount of nicotine (red-flag) without burning any tobacco. Secondly they offer “Inlife Journey Coffee.” Introducing super-coffee on steroids. Journey coffee includes acai berry (like everything else on the Internet), goji berries, and combines caffeine with antioxidant effects of the added berries. See I told you it was super-coffee on steroids. They state they have “freshest and best tasting coffee beans that the industry has to offer.” I’m not going to say anything about that, I’ll let you be the judge. They also offer Wulong tea that has flavorless acai (slightly different) and goji berries as well. The third product is “InFocus” This was developed to be a smoking alternative for when people are unable to smoke. Now check this out, the beverage has “nicotine water.” Seriously, nicotine water. This is suppose to help curve smoker’s cravings when they can not smoke. One the business side, the products do appeal to a huge market, making it much easier to sell than regular network marketing super juice. Just some food for thought.
Now, let’s talk about money. The company offers a binary compensation plan with uni-level bonuses and commissions that are paid weekly. Revenue comes from retail sales, and through building a downline of independent consultants. Basically the norm in network marketing. Percentages are paid through seven levels of sales, and using a two to one ratio on each leg of your downline for all other products. Distributors are required to be qualified for 4 out of 6 ways to earn compensation. This last statement brings me to this…
How in the world are you going to qualify? First you will need a consistent flow of leads and interested prospects that want to join this type of business. With a compensation plan this lucrative you will attract many tire-kickers and since the plan is so complicated to explain most of your friends and family just plain and simple won’t get it.
So what’s left? If you would like to build your Inlife business by leveraging the power of the Internet, and have interested prospects chasing you down, ready to join, then check out this absolutely free gift I have for you below.

How To Find Your Passion In Life
I read this article recently by Warren Beatty:
‘You’ve achieved success in your field when you don’t know whether what you’re doing is work or play.’
Some people know from a young age what they want in life and how they are going to get it. If you are anything like most people, you do not have a clue! This article is to help you find and discover what you are passionate about, so that you can enjoy life to the full.
The first question to ask yourself is ‘Do you know what you love?’
Most people have no clue what they love to do. They spend most of their waking time in a job that may bring in decent incomes but little joy. In the day-to-day grind they simply do not have time to fully explore and decide what brings them happiness. They think that starting a business or switching careers will magically provide the solution. The danger is that if you don’t get clear about your passion, you could easily create another “job” that is no more satisfying than the career you left.
Here are a few tips to help you discover your passion.
1. Find what keeps reoccurring in your life.
There maybe something that keeps showing up in your life that you love. For example, you may love photography, or public speaking, or nature… the list is endless. Next, seek out jobs, industries or businesses that will allow you to have some connection with what you are passionate about.
2. Think outside the box.
We get so used to working in what we are trained in. If you are a nurse, you get used to working as a nurse, and although you may be passionate about something completely different, you never take the time to explore it. When trying to find your passion and figuring out what you want to do with your life think beyond what you currently do.
3. Timing is everything.
Timing is important. If you cannot find your passion, then the time may not be right to make a drastic change in your life. Making changes at the wrong time can lead to stress, and stress robs you of your peace, good health, and well being. If you feel you are ready to start to pursue your passions and live life to the full, GO FOR IT and best of luck!
